One of my favorite parts of summer is the fresh fruit. There is really no reason to have dessert (not that it stops us) when there is so much readily available that is naturally sweet. The variety is amazing and when you put it together in a fruit salad you experience the best of all fruit flavors at one time!
The fruit used in this salad recipe is just a guideline. The recipe is really 8 cups of fruit, whatever you desire, and then the wonderful honey poppy seed dressing. Now, I just got done saying how the fruit is so amazing this time of year that it doesn’t need a thing, and that is true, but the flavor of the honey, poppy seeds, and a touch or cinnamon just makes the sweetness come out all the more.
When I was making this salad I used watermelon and cantaloupe for the melons, strawberries and blueberries with a garnish of raspberries, pineapple, and plumbs (to add the tartness that I thought it needed.) I think this fruit salad would be great with whatever you have in your house, or whatever is in season and ripe where you live. I hope you give the dressing a try on any fruit you have, it is an unforgettable flavor combination!

Honey Poppy Seed Fruit Salad
Cut all the fruit into bit size pieces and stir to combine in a large mixing bowl.
In a small bowl make the dressing by mixing together the honey, lemon juice, poppy seeds, and cinnamon.
Drizzle the dressing over the fruit and stir to make sure the dressing is evenly distributed. Serve chilled!
