These chips are so easy to make and really yummy!  We like to eat them plain, dipped in fruit salsa, dipped in apple sauce, or with fruit.  I have seen a lot of recipes lately for “dessert cheese balls” made with cream cheese and I haven’t tried one yet, but these would be great as dippers into one of those too.

Yesterday I was talking about how overwhelming summer snacks can feel to a mom, this is another great snack.  They keep in an airtight container for several days, if they last in your house that long!

Cinnamon and Sugar Chips

  • 4 10 inch flour tortillas
  • 2 Tbs. butter, melted
  • 2 Tbs. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.  Mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl.

Using a basting brush cover one tortilla with melted butter and then sprinkle 1 1/2 tsp. of the cinnamon and sugar mixture over the top of the tortilla.  Slice the tortilla, like a pie, into 12 pieces.  (I use a pizza cutter to do this, but a sharp knife would work fine too.)  Transfer cut tortilla pieces to a cookie sheet.

Repeat with the remaining tortillas until all the chips are cut.  Bake for 8-11 minutes, or until the chips are very lightly browned.

Let the chips cool for a few minutes and enjoy!
