Who doesn’t love pizza?  It’s tasty, diverse and covered whatever you want, what could be better?  Well, my family thinks nothing!  That’s why it’s a “regular” in my house.  Now, I love crust, but I’m really the only one living under my roof that is a “crust connoisseur” so taking hours to make the crust doesn’t get me any brownie points around here.  So the dilemma?  Is there a crust that I like, that can be made quickly, to curb my family’s cravings and satisfy my taste buds?  The answer is a resounding YES!

My friend Molly gave me this recipe a few years ago and I have made close to a hundred pizzas with it!  It is tried and true and really lovely, not to mention quick and easy!  No planning ahead, no kneading, no raising time, but very reliable.  Making a pizza with this crust is almost as easy as pulling out a frozen pizza, but so much tastier and way better for you, not to mention you can have it with whatever toppings your heart desires.  Pair it with my pizza sauce and you have a match made in heaven.  So next time you’re having a hankering for pizza look no further!

Side Note: I think one of the key’s to great homemade pizza is using a baking stone.  I love mine from Pampered Chef and use it for way more than pizza!

Molly’s Pizza Crust

  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose or bread flour
  • 1 Tbs. yeast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 cup warmish hot water
  • 2 Tbs. olive oil

Preheat the oven to 425.

In a large bowl mix flour, yeast, salt and sugar together until well blended.

Using a wooden spoon mix in the water and 1 Tbs. olive oil.

Once throughly mixed let the dough rest for at least 5 minutes (longer is fine too.)

Spread the remaining 1 Tbs. olive oil on top of the dough and shape dough onto your pizza pan.  Top with desired ingredients* and bake 15-20 minutes.

*For a thicker crust let the prepared pizza rest for 5 minutes on the counter before baking.
