These brownies are so delicious, made with 6 ingredients (or less), gluten free, and it only takes one mixing bowl!  Wow, can a recipe get any better than that?!?

Nutella is the magic ingredient.  The rich taste, the dense fudgy inside, the simple recipe list, it’s all possible because of the Nutella!  They are quick too.  You can make them from start to finish in less than 30 minutes.  They bake for about 20-22 minutes and it takes less than 5 minutes to whip up the batter.

Have I convinced you yet that these are perfect for a quick dessert and decadent enough for dinner guests?  They are also the right treat to take to the office, a meeting, or a friend’s house because they are gluten free (believe me you don’t miss the flour!) so anyone can enjoy them!

Nutella Brownies

Adapted from here

  • 1 cup Nutella (one small jar)
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts, divided (optional)

Preheat the oven to 350.  Line an 8×8 baking dish with foil (leaving a bit of overhang as handles) and spray with nonstick spray.

In a mixing bowl beat together the Nutella, baking powder, eggs, vanilla, and, optional but delicious, mini chocolate chips and 1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts.  Mix until the batter is smooth (this can be done by hand but happens a lot faster using a mixer).

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and top with the remaining 1/4 cup of chopped hazelnuts.  Bake until set and slightly cracked on top, about 20-25 minutes.  Let cool and then remove brownies from pan using the foil handles.  Slice and serve with vanilla ice cream or milk!
